After School Enrichment and Meal Programs

 

When school is out and parents are still at work, children need a safe place to be with their friends, with structured activities, supportive adults, and good nutrition. Afterschool programs that participate in CACFP give children and teenagers the nutrition they need, and draw them into constructive activities that are safe, fun, and filled with opportunities for learning. Chester Elementary, Greenville Elementary, Quincy Elementary @Pioneer Campus and C.Roy Carmichael Elementary currently operate After School programs. The Nutrition Services department serves meals to 9 school sites within Plumas County, serving an average of 2000 meals daily.  Menus are listed above for Elementary and Jr./Sr. High Schools. All Food Service Cafeteria Managers are ServSafe certified, are trained in providing safe and nutritious meals for all students. Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.  PUSD Food Services  provides students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at the Filing a Program Discrimination Complaint as a USDA Customer page, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
