Terry R. Oestreich
Superintendent of Schools

In April of 2016, I was hired by our Governing Board to serve in the role of Plumas Unified School District (PUSD) Superintendent and appointed to serve in the role as the Plumas County Office of Education (PCOE) Superintendent.  Over the past 22 years, I have worked for both PCOE and PUSD in multiple roles and now to serve in this capacity is a great honor and privilege.

Our mission is to collectively inspire every child, in every classroom, every day, with a vision to ensure an exemplary education with diverse opportunities and accept no limits on the learning potential of any child.  How do we do this?  It starts with a passionate Governing Board who has high expectations and desires the very best for each school in all four communities.   We have a hard-working, loyal Cabinet, a high performing Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) with dedicated support staff and committed educators.  We all work together, as a team, to serve our students, parents and community.

We focus on our six strategic goals which start with student achievement, fiscal responsibility, staff, families and community, facilities and leadership to ensure a high-quality education for all students!

Our core values of learning, fiscal responsibility, compassion, teamwork, individuality, accountability and communication serve to remind us that we have a big job to do and what an honor it is to fulfill the stewardship of preparing our students to graduate from high school being fully prepared for their journey ahead, regardless of which path they choose.

I am excited about our journey before us as we all commit to explore, learn and thrive together!

With gratitude for this experience,

Terry R. Oestreich, Superintendent

Plumas County Office of Education & Plumas Unified School District
