Region 5 Board Seat Election

Candidate filing period now open

The candidate filing period for the November 4, 2025 Uniform District Election is open from July 14, 2025 to August 8, 2025 at 5 PM.

Paperwork can be obtained from Plumas County Elections Department or district secretaries. All paperwork must be filed with Plumas County Elections Department by the 5:00 PM, August 8, 2025 deadline.

Special Election for Area 5 Trustee seat

With more than 60 days having passed since former trustee Leslie Edlund stepped down, and no appointment made by the current PUSD Board, the next step is a special election to fill the vacant Region 5 seat.

At the upcoming joint PCOE/PUSD board meeting on June 18, 2025, the Plumas County Superintendent of Schools will present a resolution calling for that special election. The election will take place as part of the November 4, 2025 general election in Plumas County.

It’s considered a “special” election because this seat wasn’t originally scheduled to be up for election until 2026.
