Superintendent's Message

I am honored to serve as the Plumas County Superintendent of Schools, having been appointed to the role in December 2024. I am excited and grateful to have been elected in the June 2026 election to continue serving the students, families, educators, and communities of Plumas County. 

With more than 25 years in education serving in Sierra and Plumas counties—as a teacher, principal, and superintendent—I bring a deep understanding of what it takes to support student success at every level. I am passionate about the unique and vital role a County Office of Education plays in strengthening our local district.

Our focus is clear: expanding high-quality professional development opportunities for educators, partnering with the district to improve academic performance, and enhancing student enrichment programs that provide meaningful learning experiences. I will continue working with Plumas Unified School District in its rebuilding process with the Fiscal Crisis & Management Team and the California Department of Education on the comprehensive review process, and collaborating with staff and families to strengthen systems and improve county/district processes. Together, we can ensure a bright future for all of our students.
