Plumas Unified School District (PUSD) continues to face significant fiscal challenges that impact our ability to operate sustainably. These challenges include a structural deficit of $9.5 million, cash insolvency, and the inability to meet the state-required reserve.
Under legislation AB 2756 and the direction of the County Administrator, PUSD is required to develop and implement a Fiscal Stabilization Plan. This plan will outline the ongoing budget reductions and structural changes necessary to restore the district’s long-term fiscal health.
As part of our commitment to transparency and community engagement, PUSD will hold another round of Community Listening Meetings. During these meetings, the district will share information about the Fiscal Stabilization Plan and provide opportunities for community input.
We aim for these meetings to help our communities gain a more complete picture of the facts and direction of our financial situation. As always, you can access information on our website here: Fiscal Updates Page
Community Listening Meeting Schedule:
All meetings will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will be live streamed on our YouTube channel for those who wish to listen in remotely. Streaming starts when the meeting starts. YouTube Live link
