2. Update your annual registration forms in Aeries Parent Portal

It is critically important that families complete all required registration documents each year. These forms:

Help us maintain compliance with state education requirements
Ensure our district is adequately funded for the year
Include income information that remains confidential and is used only to determine eligibility for supplemental funding that directly supports student programs

Will there be school bus service this year?

PUSD will not offer general home-to-school transportation during the 2026–2027 school year. Transportation will be limited to students whose services are required by law or identified through an individual student plan or program.

The district will retain two large buses and five smaller special education buses. The larger buses may be used for academic field trips and student opportunities, including Plumas to Pacific, Career Technical Education activities, and college exploration trips. Unfortunately, the district will not be able to provide transportation for athletic events during the 2026–2027 school year.

How do I get fingerprinted to be a classroom volunteer or parent driver?

School site volunteers and parent drivers must complete and pass an FBI/DOJ fingerprint background check, as well as filling out an application and providing required documents.

Fingerprinting is available at the County/District Office, 50 Church St. in Quincy. There is no cost for fingerprinting. Just give us a call at (530) 283-6500 ext. 5202 to make an appointment.

Good news: Once you've completed your fingerprint background check, you do NOT need to repeat it each year. It remains valid for as long as your student attends Plumas County Schools.

"Off & Away" Mobile Device Policy

Students will not be permitted to use personal mobile devices—including phones, smartwatches, tablets, or wireless earbuds—from the time they arrive on campus until they leave. District-issued Chromebooks will continue to be used for educational activities. If a student needs to contact home, they may use the school office phone.

"Off & Away" means devices must remain off and out of sight for the entire school day. To abide by this policy, students should leave devices at home, or turn them off and store them in backpacks for the day.
